Temple of Apollo
This area, in which votive altars were already present from the 7th century BC, was reorganised in the Samnite period (6th century BC) with the construction of a first temple. The temple was later reconstructed by quaestor Oppio Campano, and quickly became one of the most important places of worship in Pompeii.
